Dana Anderson, PhD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
[email protected]

Dana Anderson, PhD is a licensed psychologist in Arizona and New York.  She earned a BA in mathematics and music from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MA and EdM in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University before earning her PhD in Clinical Psychology at St. John's University.  She has training and experience in multiple therapeutic approaches including: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy and strives to create an individualized treatment plan with clients.  A strong emphasis during her graduate training was on multiculturalism and multicultural competence, thus making hermore aware and increasing my understanding of the key roles that a client’s culture, identity, ethnicity, race, gender, and other aspects of diversity play in the counseling process.  Through both her training and practice, she learned culturally-competent counseling practices and the current theoretical approaches necessary to engage a diverse clientele.  I aim to identify specific goals while being sensitive to ethnic/cultural/religious beliefs and values as well as sexual identity. Treatment will be collaborative - you will be treated with professionalism and respect.
